The chapter "Who Built The Pyramids?" by Mike Lefevre talks about the hard job he has done and the tiresome, and unsatisfactory life and his family. After reading this chapter,I found it interesting. Mike Lefevre,37 years old who works as a steel wheel and had tired day all the time pick it up put it down, pick it up and put it down.He handled between forty and fifty thousand pounds of steel a day and it's dying.every time he started work by 7am and gets tired by 7:30 am and then later by 3pm at the end of the day.He was not happy and excited about his work because his boss always watching him and bugging him so he would rather work in the place where it's eight hours a day and nobody to watch him than the work with five minutes with a guy watching him.He feels of himself as"a mule". He wants to work at the place where he can be the part of it and can show it to his kids with pride. So he thinks he is doing nothing good with this tiring steel wheel job. He wanted change his working hours because he don't even get enough time to spend with his two kids and wife. Therefore, he wanted to work just twenty hours a week so he can some spend time with his family to know them better and take his kids to picnic on weekends. He wants his son to be an effete snob so he can get a high respect among the people and high social position. He don't like to see his son like him working for others and listen to their orders instead he wants his son to go to college and be a great person who owns and do something by himself without depending on others.Lefevre says he work so hard and want to come home and sit down and lay around. But he gotta get it out and able to turn around to somebody and say "hey, fuck you." because all day he wanted to tell his boss that go fuck himself, but he can't.So he wants his son to be qualified and do something great work to be proud of his son and let others know that it's his son with pride. He says he wanted his son to look at him and say,"Dad, you are a nice guy, but you are a fucking dummy." And also he wants his son to tell him that he is not gonna be like him.every time he sees his son with a shirt and tie and dressed up real sharp and could tell others that he is my son.At last it is trying to say that working hard and own nothing is worthless. So do something of your own and be independent.
