The concept of Karl Marx "Alienation between the worker and the product of his lobor",is that there is always a hard work put on by the worker on the object he worked, but his effort and the hard labor is not making him feel content. The more he works, the less belongs to him. Therefore the worker does not affirm himself but denies himself, and he is not working willingly, but force to work. While he was working in this process,he not only feel alienated from his work and the product he create but also from the fellow man.
However there are some works which are not necessarlily alienating the worker from his product of work, for instance the scientist, with his own creative thinking and experimentation he gathers all the informations to gain some concrete results and he do not feel separated from his work. His work is not physically demanding, but his mind is always thinking.I think this same idea of non alienating from the work also applies to singers and musicians.
As far as "Who built the Pyramid",is concerned Mike, who is working in a steel factory outlet feels alienated from his work because he not excited with his work.He is tired and wants to sit down.Since the work does not belong to him or he not working voluentrily, its a forced labor.although he wants to take his kids and wife to parks and college campus and he would know them better. The work is also alienating him from his co-workers and, from the text"The foreman came over and he grabbed my shoulder, kind of gave me shove.I punched him and knocked him off the dock.Isaid, leave me alone,.Iam doing my work.Just stay away from me. Many times he had crush with his co-workers.So Mike and Marx are in the view that workers and the product he creats are alienated and it makes them poorer inside,no matter how hard they work.If i think of the "Blue Collared Brilliance"where Rose says that as you work ,you gain some experience where his mothers brother,Joe Meraglio who left school in the ninth grade to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad and eventually joined his brother
Hi - In your first paragraph, be SURE to show what is a direct quotation (Marx's words) and what are yours. Work on putting more of his idea into your words.
ReplyDeleteIn the second paragraph, give more of an introduction to show how you are introducing the two. Remember to give enough information so we understand who Mike is.
