For Monday, October 7th, bring your essay to class, printed out (see guidelines above). No need for a works cited page, but use internal documentation. Don't go to the computer lab five minutes before class - make arrangements. If you struggle with your essay, bring what you are able to do. Contact me or go to the writing center.
Read the essays that make up the section "A Pecking Order" from Terkel. No written assignment, but think about these questions to discuss:
1) Which of these women have more status and why? What does this tell us about what was valued in women at the time?
2) Working was written in 1970. How much of these women's experiences do you think are relevant today?
